FAQ’s

What is Documentary Photography?

Answer: Documentary photography involves capturing real-life events or situations in a storytelling manner. My approach focuses on authentic, candid moments that tell a story, reflect emotions, and portray the essence of the subject or event.

How do I book a photography session?

Answer: Booking a session is easy! Simply reach out via the Services Page. I’ll get back to you within a day or two to discuss your needs and schedule a date.

What is the turnaround time for receiving photos?

Answer: About the same amount of time it takes to shoot the project. I’m a mom with a brain injury, yet I’m a professional photographer — I do my best to deliver promptly. With that said, turnaround can vary depending on the project's complexity and my current workload. I always aim to deliver the highest quality images in the shortest possible time.

Do you travel for shoots?

Answer: No, at this time I stay local from West Kelowna to Oyama.

Can I have a say in the editing process?

Answer: My documentary photography style is distinct, focusing on black and white imagery to capture moments as I see them. While I value your vision, the editing style remains consistent with my artistic approach. We can discuss your expectations beforehand, but if you prefer a different editing style, my services might not be the best fit for your needs.

What should we wear for the photo session?

Answer: Whatever you want. This is about capturing you authentically. It doesn’t matter what clothing, colour, texture, whatever it is. Every detail matters to the authenticity of the experience. By influencing it, it takes away from the authenticity.

How do you handle difficult lighting situations?

Answer: It’s always challenging in low lighting situations in documentary style. Editing is our best friend in these situations and using the best and current equipment I can afford.

What are your rates?

Answer: My rates vary depending on the project's scope, duration, and travel requirements. My going rate is anywhere from $75-$150/hr. My preference is to shoot multiple sessions to capture the essence and story behind whatever project you have in mind.

Do you offer photo albums or prints?

Answer: Yes, I offer a variety of high-quality print options, including custom photo albums, canvas prints, and framed photographs. These can be discussed and arranged post-shoot.

What is your cancellation policy?

Answer: For cancellations, please notify me at least 48 hours before the scheduled session. A retainer is required to book a date, which is non-refundable but can be applied to a rescheduled session within 6 months.

How can I prepare for a documentary photography session?

Answer: The beauty of documentary photography is its spontaneity and authenticity. Just be yourself, and interact naturally with your environment or companions. I'll take care of capturing the magic of those genuine moments.

Do you have a privacy policy for the images?

Answer: Yes, I respect the privacy and confidentiality of my clients. Images will only be used for promotional purposes with your explicit consent. All client images are securely stored and handled with the utmost care.
